New Call for Proposals: U.S. Embassy Small-Grants Program for NGOs 2012

The U.S. Embassy announces its 2012 Grants Program for NGOs. The grants program seeks project proposals for activities focusing on the following areas:

  • Constructive global engagement in promoting stability and security;
  • Rule of law and government accountability;
  • Education, inclusion, and integration;
  • Economic prosperity and energy security;
  • Environmental protection.


Eligibility is limited to not-for-profit, non-governmental organizations in Slovakia. Grants may not be used for partisan political purposes. The Embassy encourages organizations that have not previously received funding from the U.S. government to apply under this announcement. Applicants with a demonstrated record of expertise and accomplishment will be considered favorably.

Projects must include a component of cost sharing or matching funds, amounting to at least 10% of the total cost.


The proposal deadline is February 17, 2012. Applicants will be contacted in March after an Embassy committee reviews the proposals.

Application Information

Award Period: up to 12 months

Award Amount: in most cases, up to $10,000

Submission Process: The grant application has to be submitted online by February 17, 2012. The application must be submitted in English.
